MIKE WASOWSKI = CHARLES BUKOWSKI

Alright crazy theory time lets go
I have a theory that i just though of that the character mike wasowski is based on poet charles bukowski.
first of all some background. Charles bukowski was initially a writer who was trying to get published but then he sort of gave up trying to please the publishers and started writing for himself and thats how his poetry came about. In a collection of his works published after he died it says that he was a loser, sort of thought of himself as scum of the earth and he wrote for himself and all theother losers too.
Mike wasowski went to the monster university where he was trying to be a scarer but then sort of failed and eventually became something he was better at. he has a similar persona to bukowski, the loser, rejected kind of vibe.
first of all there is obviously the similarities of the last name bukowski/wasowski. But also there is the whole 'tried to be one thing but it didnt work out so they became a slightly different version of the thing" thing.
also, in the collection of bukowski poems, one of them mentions a friend of his who got published but he thought that he was actually a much better writer than him. this creates the paralell because wasowski is friends with sully who is better than hime even though he tries way harder which causes wasowski to resent him for it. also in the poem the published writer ends up losing because he becomes indulgent and old and fat and lazy, having lived a colourful life yet never really having lived at all. this is just like sully who ends up getting told that he would be expelled because he didnt try hard enough in his studies, he too, became lazy and sloth like.
taa daa
honestly i dont even think this is true but whatev.

WICKED hitler theory

Okay.
So I just thought up this theory and its a lil cray cray but whatev. i think in the musical wicked the wizard is hitler.
I dont mean literal but theres a sort of parralell? as if they based his character upon hitlers life.
I do have actual proof though chill, NUMBER ONE the animal thing in the musical there is an oppresion of the animal people in oz, we even see them losing their rights/abilities to speak, we later find out that the wizard was the reason for it. I think that ones a pretty obvious paralell.
NUMBER TWO there is a song called 'a sentimental man' in which we get to know more about the wizard as a person, a lot of people think hitler was this evil mastermind, but really he was a normal person and perhaps that was the most scary thing about him.
NUMBER THREE I think glinda represents propoganda
NUMBER FOUR the wizard was literally'blown in by balloon' similar to the way hitler appeared out of nowhere, formed his own political party and BAM hitler is chancellor now
NUMBER FIVE the munchkin people, pretty much the only reason the wizard became in charge is because the citizens of oz 'needed someone to believe in' this is preeeeetty much the same thing that happened with hitler, germans were losing faith in the democratic system after ww1 and the very negative affect it had on every one living there, so the idea of a 'strong male leader' was very appealing to them
So there you have it, five rock-solid peices of evidence explaining why the wizard of oz is actually hitler.
see ya later potater
HOLY HECK I JUST REALISED THEIR VEST JACKET THINGS ARE SIMILAR

boi this is ages later im writing this but i was googling stuff about this and apparently he is actually supposed to be representative or at least evoke a similar leadership stlye to hitler or stalin

THE TONY'S 2017 BOI

alright listen up i like talking like a gangsta sometimes just for fun bruuhhhhhhhh.
anyway
ive only really listened to dear evan hansen and the great comet so far but i watched a musicaltheatermash video and it seems like they are the two front runners for best musical(they are both nominated) and its a very close thing AND HERES WHY

dear evan hansen is a beautiful musical, well crafted and all that jazz(MUSICAL PUNS?REFERENCES?IDK) but itss one of those things that not a lot happens in it but it carries a message, like a john green book because it spreads the message of teen anxiety and suicide and blahblah blah and it is very much every inch a musical but with a modern twist that makes it stand out and be remembered.

the great comet it based on the really old russian novel war and peace by a russian guy. the musical is based on part of it and was originally an off broadway production but was picked up by broaday(i think? do people get approached by broadway) it is not a traditional musical in that it doesnt rhyme, theres no really catchy showtune and theres a sort of narration about it? its sung through which is really hard to do and give the story justice, but like hamilton it NAILS IT. there is a way that im really crap at describing but its like the characters are narrating themselves/eachother which is like a nod towards the book it is based on and the dialogue is very old (they say things like 'i will implore him to do so') which reminds you that this is a story set in 1800s russia which i like but i do enjoy a catchy singalong.
but something about the great comet, something that i like is that in doing so its not confining itself within the 'typical broadway musical' box which i think is what art is all about, without avant garde works of art nothing changes, and whats the good in living like that.
so it could go either way and i love both musicals but there is a small part of me leaning towards the great comet, not because of the musical itself but because of what it is, what it represents and means, the statement it makes for art as a concept i guess?
does any of this actually make sense?? probably not but OOOOOOOHHH WEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
